One of my most favourite things about fall is pumpkins :) And I thought how cute would a fabric pumpkin be?? So I got to work and drafted is quick little tutorial and pattern that you can make in a few different sizes! I hope you enjoy and have the most wonderful fally fall sewing day!
- 1/4 to 1/2 Meter of Woven Fabric (Depending on Size of Pumpkin)
- Matching Thread
- Hand Sewing Needle
Large = 13" Finished
Medium = 7" Finished
Small = 5.5" Finished
* Measurements are Approximate.
Using your pumpkin pattern and cut 6 pieces.
Place two of your pumpkin pieces together and sew along one side.
Add a third piece and sew along one side. So you have all three pieces all together. Repeat for the other three pieces.
Place your two halves together matching the seams.
Sew together, leaving a small opening.
Flip right side out and stuff with pillow stuffing.
Hand stitch the opening closed.
Thread your handbsewing needle with a double strand of thread and knot at the bottom of the pumpkin.
Push your needle through the middle of the pumpkin. Go back and forth like this a few times pulling the thread tight to create that pumpkin shape! Knot tightly.
Cut out one pumpkin stem and roll.
Attach to the top of the pumpkin with a few secure stitches.
Using a matching thread colour and sewing using a running stitch along the seam lines and pull tightly to gather up and create the pumpkin lines! Knot securely and enjoy your pumpkin!
