You know what they say about horizontal strips and how they can make you look wider. Well it really is true for some strips. There are times when you absolutely can get away with a horizontal strip if it's proportional to your body, meaning the right width and placement. Alas with this particular fabric I could tell that if I made a full dress or skirt that it would not look good at all.
I've been puzzling over this in the back of my mind for a while now because it is a lovely fabric and the colours are perfect for fall. I only bought a meter so I wanted to make sure that I didn't waste it on something that wouldn't look good and that I would never wear.
What I learned from this is that make sure that you are utilizing your fabric and the garment style so that it works for your body type. Garments should flatter and above all else be COMFORTABLE. If you don't feel good in your clothes it definitely carries over to your attitude :)
